ABOUT US

The Cloud 8 summit is a project by Drago Petrovic and Stoyan Chalakov. This project is about organizing events that are accessible to all interested IT enthusiasts in an uncomplicated and free way.

Our focus is to find the best speakers from the areas of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure, who give talks on the respective topics.
Our target audience are IT engineers and IT decision makers.

This year’s summit will also be free of charge for all participants. True to the motto: “By the community, for the community“.

All registered participants will get free access to all session slides of the Summit after the Summit.

Awarded Speaker

Our speakers are very experienced. Many of them have been awarded by Microsoft with the MVP or RD title, or work at Microsoft itself.

Tracks by Technology

Our focus is on Microsoft 365 and Azure. Therefore, we have divided our sessions into 2 tracks.

Microsoft Teams

All our sessions are conducted with Microsoft Teams. This simplifies participation for our attendees.

How to register

Why should I register?

Registration for our event is not mandatory.
However, registration gives participants the opportunity to download all session recordings and the decks of the individual sessions.
If you register, you will receive the Microsoft Teams links for the sessions by email on the day of the event.

How to register?

Registration is very simple.
To do so, either click on the link below, or on the corresponding link in the top right-hand corner of this website.

You will then be redirected to a Microsoft Forms page where you can easily answer the questions.
You will receive an e-mail from us shortly before the event and session e-mails during the event day.

After the event we will provide you with the slides and videos of the sessions.

After that we will not bother you any more.

If you are interested in receiving our newsletter, you must explicitly select it in the form.

How my data will be used?

The user data provided will not be passed on to third parties at any time!
On the one hand, registration helps us to provide you with more comfort for our event.
For us, the registrations help us to better estimate the number of participants.

After the event is finished and the last message with the slides and recordings has been sent, the data will be deleted.

If you are interested in receiving our newsletter, you must explicitly sign up for it.

We are a non-profit association of technicians who have no monitory intentions with the Cloud 8 Summit. Much is based on trust. Therefore, you can be sure that we will not sell your data to third parties or share it in any other way.

Our History

2019 | Our first Summit

September 2019

In 2019, the idea arose to set up a summit that would be held according to the principle: “By the community, for the community”.
The first summit was held on a small scale with 6 sessions on Microsoft Teams.

2020 | 2nd virtual Summit

November 2020

Our second Summit was quite a bit bigger than the first one last year. In the second edition on 13.11.2020.

21 sessions were presented by 21 different speakers.

2021 | Two Summits takes place

June 2021

Our third edition of the Cloud Summit was held on “June 4, 2021”.
The third Summit was the largest event to date. A total of 38 speakers (mainly Microsoft MVP’s and/or Microsoft Regional Directors) presented a total of 32 sessions.

December 2021

After the great success of the third Summit, we decided to hold another Summit on 3 December 2021.
The fourth edition was a specialized edition which, in contrast to the third edition, was kept very small.

In this edition we had 8 sessions which were very specific to Cloud Security based on Microsoft 365, Sensitivity Labeling and Data classification.

2022 | Time after COVID

23 September 2022

The fifth edition of the Cloud8 Summit was held on September 23, 2022. Since this edition, we offer our participants the possibility to register for our Summit. With the registration, the Attendees get the opportunity to access slides and recordings of the Summit.

At this event, we had 14 sessions and additionally a keynote, which was conducted by Microsoft.

2024

12 Jan 2024

The 6th (again virtual) edition was held on January 12th, 2024. At this edition, there where two tracks with 4 sessions each on the topics of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure.

2025 | Journey continues

07 Feb 2025

Our next Summit (again virtual) will be held on February 7th, 2025. At this edition, there will be two tracks with 4 sessions each on the topics of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure.
In addition, a keynote is also planned for this edition.

As always, the 2025 edition is free of charge and “by the community, for the community”.

Speaker Bio

Heiko Brenn is a seasoned IT professional with over 25 years of experience in areas such as email management, security, collaboration, administration, cloud, and IT automation. He currently serves as Head of Marketing at ScriptRunner.

Throughout his career, Heiko has held various roles, including IT Administrator, Consultant, Product Manager, and Head of International Business. His extensive experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the IT industry’s evolving landscape.

Heiko is also an active member of the PowerShell community. He co-founded the PowerShell User Group Rhein-Neckar and shares his expertise through various channels, including his YouTube channel, “Heiko Brenn – PowerShell and Automation,” where he publishes ScriptRunner and PowerShell-related videos.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Heiko is a music enthusiast and shares his musical experiments on YouTube and SoundCloud.
